Lisa is the owner and designer here at ellembee! She started her company in 2008 when she was laid off from her job as a bedding designer in Southern California. After losing her job, she moved back to her hometown of Detroit. She started ellembee - who knew that getting laid off would be the best thing to ever happen to her! She ran the company out of her mom's basement (!!!) for the first 4 years. For the past 10 years, they've been working out of a 2,000-square-foot warehouse in Wixom, MI. The team prints each towel, zipper pouch, tote, and onesie by hand, using eco-friendly, water-based ink. She has been in business for 14 years now!
